A twin XL size mattress is 80" long and 38" wide.
The twin XL size mattress is great for single sleepers looking for extra legroom, often those who are more than six feet tall. This includes teens, college students, and adults who may lack bedroom space for a wider mattress size.
The twin XL is the same width as a standard twin but shares the same length as a queen or king. This makes it a perfect space-saving solution for narrow rooms that still need to accommodate adults or tall teenagers. We recommend a minimum room size of 7 x 10 feet to allow for comfortable movement around the bed.
You will need a Twin XL cadre de lit for a twin XL mattress. A twin mattress bed frame is not compatible with a twin XL mattress because twin and twin XL are different bed sizes. If you have a resizable bed frame that features an adjustable length and width, you can use this frame for your twin XL bed. You can also put two twin XL mattresses together and they will fit on a king size bed frame or a split king bed frame.

When you put two twin XL beds together, they have the same dimensions as a king size mattress (king size bed dimensions are 76” x 80"). Two twin XL beds put together are normally referred to as a split king. Matelas king split are commonly used on split king adjustable bed frames. This allows each partner to adjust their side of the bed to their liking.

A twin XL mattress and a twin mattress have the same width, but the twin XL is 5” longer than the standard twin size. Due to the added length, a twin XL mattress does require a different size bed frame and bedding.
